I am not Anglicist, alas
! To present an English version of my work, at the same time as
the Spanish and French versions, I appealed to my thin knowledge
of the language of Shakespeare. For some days I have had the chance
to count on Colin Abbott's friendship which began to rectify, little
by little, my big blunders. Since South Africa, his native land,
Colin was my most interesting pen friend, at the beginning. Now,
I manage as I can do, and I apologize to English speaking people.
The website
This website, ready to use again thanks to Samir SGHAIER's
kindness and ability, aims at making known, through extracts periodically
renewed, a book, a fruit of a passion and of 20 years of studies
and search. The illustrations used for the homepage and those that
will appear inside chapters have for author Louis VERGNET, painter
of Marseilles.

The book

The author
Born in Spain in 1934, Joseph VELASCO professed at the University
of Nice (France) before obtaining the first Chair of Spanish Languages
in the University of Avignon (France),where he contributed to create
the Hispanic Studies in 1973 . Speaker, author of numerous articles
and works on Lorca and the Generation of 1927, Doctor of State of
the University of Toulouse in 1986, he was until 1998 Professor
of Universities and Leader of Spanish Department in Avignon College.
